Contributed from the essay, we got a statement that briefy explain the whole idea which is
“There is a will, there is a way”, it is only left to the students with great determination, passion and will power who are willing to go beyond.
To develop the idea, we compose several images to visualize the statement. We work on it with what we had learnt from the course, such as Analog Metaphor, Juxtaposition and Random Word Image. The techniques are useful and effective.

Faculty of Creative Multimedia, in short term, also known as FCM, of Multimedia University has almost 12 years history background, producing digital content designers, whether they are animators, interface designers or multimedia designers. However, there are significant differences between the graduates that well-prepare themselves and continue their path in the field of art and design and the graduates that almost fail their degree course and halfheartedly enter the multimedia world.
Faculty of Creative Multimedia is much alike a “pre-working environment”. Unlike other faculties such as Faculty of Management, FCM is a coursework based faculty that emphasizes on researches, ideas and the realization of the ideas- work produced by the students. Tons of assignments from several subjects will be assigned to the students with limited time given to complete. So, undergraduates or students studying in FCM typically live like zombies. They do not sleep and work on assignments from midnight to morning, then go to classes like soulless dead without much rest and energy. This would affect their concentration in class and thus their absorption of the knowledge provided by the lecturers. The unhealthy lifestyle and way of study tends to become a habit to them and this will affect their performance when they graduate and work in the future.
It is never easy to study and learn without efforts. FCM is a tough step stone to one’s own future. The heavy loads of work consume lots of time and the students must endure the physical and psychological torment. Hence, those who cannot take the stress will fall down from the path and those who do not take it seriously will not succeed in anyway. However, the balance between times spent on assignments and own playtime is on the hand of the undergraduates or students of FCM. Often, it is either the students do last minute work because of spending too much time on entertainment and relaxation or become a dull person who has less communication with others and even has no chance to get to know others because of not knowing to manage time well.
In Malaysia, there is misconception among public who is not exposed or do not fully understand the art and design industry as it is still in developed stage. People often wonder and think that there is no career prospect if you study in Faculty of Creative Multimedia. This is wrong because local market do need professionals in various industries such as arts, architecture, broadcasting, computing, design, animation and advertising. However, new graduates from the degrees are in low demand compared to other fields or jobs likes accounting or business administration. Less job opportunities in local market creates high competition among new graduates. Thus, the chances of become unemployed has increased. Furthermore, it is hard to get recognized and become famous in a night. It takes hard work and long time for a good achievement.
It is a path full with toughness and resentment. Often, the salary is low for beginners in the industry and it is hard to survive in the city with limited income and high expenses. Moreover, the job is time consuming as you have a lot of work and tasks to complete within the given period. You have to crack you mind to think a lot of creative ideas and apply your skills in order to fulfill clients’ requirements and complete the projects given. It is all about physical and psychological tasks that require high stamina with little rest hour. Plus, you will have less free personal time since you have to spent time with your team members to deal with projects and clients. Sometimes, you may neglect the relationship between you and your family and even your lovers. Thus, you may worsen the relationships between your loves one and break off the connection.
Ministry of Culture, Arts and Tourism, corporates and design studios or companies should be responsible to expose the art and design to public by having more festivals and showcases such as film festival and art bazaar to correct the misunderstanding that the public have. Through these events, there should be more contests organized and give talented freelancers, graduates, and art and design companies awards or recognition upon their great work and contribute to the industry and even the country at the same time. Free sponsors and supports should also be given to those who are interested in setting up galleries and showcases. Furthermore, art and design companies can have annual vacation among the colleagues and their families. It is a one stone kills two birds method to bring the relationships between partners and families even more closers. Thus, it does great help and affects the performance of the team in a positive way.
Furthermore, bonus or awards should be given to the designers or students for their great work and contribution, and it also works as an encouragement to them. Plus, undergraduates or students should do a time management table in order to manage their time well and balance their study time and play time. It is a good practice for the future as you need to be organized in both your work and family, so that you can be responsible and successful in your career and relationship with others. Moreover, Faculty of Creative Multimedia can have motivation course and career talk to encourage and expose students to the multimedia world.
